The place has a lot of potential, but it’s poorly managed and doesn’t have the basics for guests. My wife and I camped there, but they wouldn’t provide electricity for our RV, and the campsite bathroom had been closed since New Year’s. They let us use a bathroom in one of the rooms, then at night we found out the room had been rented and we were left without a bathroom. It’s almost absurd. The so-called camping area is just the lawn in front of the inn, with no gate or access control. After seeing the rooms too, I wouldn’t recommend either staying in a room or camping.

The owner told me at check-in that the Chalé didn’t take cards and asked me to pay by bank transfer then and there. I did, but later saw the charge had also gone through on my card. I booked through Booking, and the duplicate amount hasn’t been refunded. I’m filing a report with the Civil Police. Watch out for this and save yourself the hassle.

I spent five days at pousada Cuba while it was being renovated. The chalets are separate, and I made my own meals without any problems. It felt peaceful and safe, with secure parking and close access to the main tourist spots. It was also what I could afford. I came back feeling refreshed and hope to return. Such a lovely place to rest in Trancoso. ❤️🌴🌵🪴🌺🏖️🌞
