Pousada Recanto Trancoso

Breakfast was wonderful, and the place itself is beautiful and immaculate. But there are rules about everything: no eating or drinking by the pool, and no using an iron because they offer that service. The barbecue costs 60 reais to use.

The inn is a long way from the shops and the Quadrado. The basement suites smell musty, and the air conditioning didn’t work well and needs maintenance. There should be a clothesline on the balcony for drying bikinis, cover-ups, and towels. I also wasn’t keen on the mosquito nets over the beds since I didn’t see a need for them when there aren’t any mosquitoes. The bathroom needs grab bars and a non-slip mat in the shower, because the floor is slippery and could cause a fall for older people and children. The room was large and clean, though, and the inn was good overall.

The setting is beautiful, with a green area, and they welcome pets. We were charmed. All the rooms were lovely, carefully arranged, fresh-smelling, and clean.

In the afternoon there was coffee and toast, which made me feel at home. I’d like to come back, if God allows. The outdoor area was beautifully cared for, and there were pets around so we didn’t miss our own back home as much. Before check-in, I had a few questions and got quick answers. When we arrived, Janaina welcomed us and gave me tips whenever I needed them. The room was charming and spacious, spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a good shower, and lovely decor. A small clothesline on the balcony for drying bikinis would be useful, haha. Breakfast had a bit of everything, all good quality. The scrambled eggs were made fresh, and the view of the pool was a nice extra, haha.
