Chalés São Mateus

The mattresses are sooo comfortable, and we slept like rocks. Everything is clean, new, and cozy, and it was a pleasure to discover this inn. It’s a family friendly place with no noise, and everyone follows the rules. Gislaine, Robson, and their son are incredibly helpful, we loved you all! It’s easy to get to the area’s most beautiful beaches since you’re right by the BR. Worth every cent, and we’ll be back soon!

We had a really good stay, and thank you, Gislaine. I just wish the rules had been made clearer before we booked, especially the ban on music at any volume. Once you’re already there, there’s no way to go back on it.

My brother-in-law made the reservation, and when we tried to book, the place was already full. The owners had plenty of parking space, though, and let my brother-in-law and me leave our car there without charging either of us extra. They’re very attentive, and the rooms were clean and airy, with a fridge, microwave, and barbecue in the room. It’s a quiet spot near a small beach if you don’t have a car. If you can, though, I’d recommend checking out other beaches with more facilities too. Anyway, I think you’ll like it.

The mountain view is lovely at any hour, and we had total peace and quiet for most of our seven day stay, often with just us staying there. The chalet worked perfectly for two adults and two babies, with a barbecue area and yard. It’s a great fit for families, not groups of young people looking to party. On the street, before you reach the beach, there’s a produce shop that covers the basics like a mini market. The person serving there and the neighbors are welcoming and always say hello. On the corner is Barra seca beach, with two nice kiosks and the marina, though the beach itself isn’t very good for swimming. Other really nice beaches are less than ten minutes away in either direction along the road.
