The house and its location were excellent, which makes the way we were treated even more disappointing. We stayed with family from February 5 to 7. When we arrived in heavy rain, we asked to pull the car into the garage just long enough to unload our things and our two-year-old, but Bianca immediately refused. She was smoking and didn’t even put the cigarette down to greet us. By then it felt like a terrible choice, though we were already there and tried to act as if nothing was wrong. The kitchen wasn’t equipped for a family with young children, with no stove and too few dishes, and there were cigarettes left on the tables where we ate. Cigarette smoke was also an issue: the smell of marijuana came from the host’s bedroom window toward people at the pool or leisure area. On Saturday night, the host went out drinking and left the house without information or support for the guests. At checkout, she didn’t come out of her room to help us. We’d cleared the rooms at 11 a.m. and asked to use the shower after the beach so our baby wouldn’t have to travel covered in sand. She sent word through a friend who was staying there that it wasn’t possible. I’m almost certain she isn’t the owner, but if she is, she needs to learn some basic manners and how to host people. I absolutely do not recommend it.

It’s less than a five-minute walk to the beach, and the dead-end lane where you leave the car felt safe, even though there’s no garage. The barbecue area that guests use for cooking is fairly small and shared with everyone. It’s a place for smokers and pets are allowed, so people with allergies should keep that in mind. Noise is banned after 10 p.m., with a possible fine. Funny enough, on the last two nights it was the owners making noise after that time.

The shared areas were nice, and the place felt clean and peaceful. The beds were comfortable and the location was great. I only held back the fifth star because the fan was really noisy. Also, if you want to use a nonstick frying pan, bring your own.

The people were welcoming and the atmosphere was nice, but this probably isn’t the best place if privacy matters to you. If I remember right, there’s only one suite for couples, and its window faces an area where people pass by a lot. When I stayed, the TV in the living room could be heard in our bedroom. The facilities were okay, though I found the pool and kitchen less impressive than I’d expected.
