Guest House Canto do Sabiá

The worst part was the room. It felt almost haunted: everything was deteriorated, there was a strong mold smell, and the old blankets were small and coming apart at the seams. The door frames were broken and worn down, whether from insects or age, and everything seemed dirty. The bathroom was tiny and disgusting. The 14-inch TV had only two working channels, and the Wi-Fi they say they have didn’t work. The pool was dirty, and nobody seemed to care. Two dogs roam around the inn, including during breakfast, whether you want their company or not. This was a traumatic experience, much like Ademilson’s account from 2013. The trouble started the day before check-in. I called to confirm because they hadn’t answered my email, and a woman who said she owned the inn rudely insisted I hadn’t sent the voucher, even though I told her I’d emailed it the night before. When we arrived, the inn was inside Recanto. It was raining hard, the whole condominium was poorly lit, and the small gate sign was hard to see, so we struggled to find it. I called for help, but the owner was rude again and told me to “just” follow the gatekeeper’s directions. We went back to the entrance and eventually found the place. The one good thing was Marina, the employee who served breakfast with a smile and a lot of care. Thank you, dear, you really save this place! I copied the room description because the situation is still exactly the same. The whole inn badly needs renovation, and we’ll never return.

The location is great, with easy access to Lagoinha beach and its calm water, which is excellent for swimming. It’s also near the Lagoinha ruins, Véu da Noiva waterfall, and the Seven Beaches trail.

This was the nicest place I’ve stayed in Ubatuba. It’s in the middle of a condominium, surrounded by some of the best, quietest beaches, and right beside the Seven Beaches trail. The place feels cozy, the staff are attentive, there are often some really nice snacks, and the little pool is great.

The service was good, the inn is beautiful, and breakfast tasted great. If the rooms and bathrooms got a little attention, it’d be perfect.
