Hotel Lázaro Ubatuba

Terrible hotel and service. I booked through Booking, but there was no reception and no one responsible there. A young woman from housekeeping helped me, but she seemed unprepared, didn't ask for documents, and just handed over the keys. The room didn't feel secure: the door was poorly maintained, and the rusty, dirty minibar offered no security at all. We paid in advance, then returned the keys right away. The owner never contacted us to ask what had happened and only replied, “good night.” I contacted Booking.com because I couldn't see the stays made through its platform.

This whole hotel feels like a lie, starting with the owners and their awful welcome. Our trip turned into a real nightmare. The air conditioning was broken, the mattresses and pillows were poorly kept, the sheets smelled bad, the minibar was rusty, and the bathroom leaked. Nothing was repaired while we were staying there. Breakfast was poor in quality and presentation. They said beach umbrellas and chairs were available, but there weren't enough for the guests. The photos had made the place look cozy and family-friendly, which was another disappointment. The parking looked covered in the pictures, but when we arrived we found it uncovered and across the street. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

A cockroach crawled up my wife's leg when she got out of the shower. She was rightly angry and complained. The inn's owner called her promiscuous even though she was seven months pregnant and I had been with her the whole time. As others have said, the owner isn't friendly. When people make complaints based on facts, he responds with baseless insults instead of trying to fix things or improve. Look at the other negative reviews.

THE WORST STAY OF MY LIFE! The shower drain was blocked, the sink leaked, and the toilet seat was broken. A cockroach crawled up my leg after I showered, probably because the blocked shower drain was backing up sewage water. Breakfast wasn't replenished. We arrived at 9 and there was almost nothing left; at exactly 9:30 the owner ended breakfast and took away what little remained while we were still there, without even asking if we wanted anything else. So little care or empathy for the guests.
