Marencanto Pousada

We arrived two days late because my partner and I didn’t take the right Covid-Test and weren’t allowed into Brazil. His family was already staying at Marencanto Pousada, and the staff were wonderful about helping us catch up. They had no problem upgrading one room so we could have a kitchen and BBQ, and after we explained we’d missed two days, they gave us a discount. The pool was always clean, with a lovely view over the neighborhood. There’s also a lookout at the top of Marencanto Pousada where you can take pictures and even see the sea. The beach is about a 15-minute walk away. Our room was spacious and clean, with a fridge and air conditioning that worked perfectly. Breakfast each morning was lovely, with coffee, different juices, cakes, fruit, and plenty more. It was delicious, and the girls serving it were kind and followed the Covid guidelines. Thank you, Marencanto Pousada, for such a wonderful stay and for being so understanding and helpful!

The inn is simple, but it does the job. The hill up to the rooms is manageable, and you can drive up to drop off or pick up your bags. The main issue was breakfast, which only starts at 8 a.m. We wanted to leave early for the beach, but having to wait until then delayed us every time. Everyone also waits outside for the breakfast room to open, and there aren’t enough tables for all the guests at 8, so some people end up waiting for others to finish. Apart from that breakfast problem, the place served us well.

The staff were really kind, attentive, and capable, and the breakfast was very good, fresh, and tasted homemade. The location is good too. I felt right at home and would definitely stay here again.

The staff deserve a special mention for their extraordinary service and friendliness. The place was very clean. Its location is good, even though it sits alongside the road on the side away from the beach. Crossing was quite easy since it’s between two speed bumps. Breakfast had few vegan options, unfortunately, though hopefully that changes soon.
