Pousada da Villa Itamambuca

We only needed somewhere for one night, and this place suited us well. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable, the TV and Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and the bathroom had a hot shower and everything else in good shape. It's easy to get to, and you can walk to the beach. Just know that after the trail we came to a channel flowing into the sea, with no stretch of sand there, so don't expect a huge beach at the end. The price felt fair, and the apartment was cozy. We booked through AirBnB, which made the night a little cheaper, though breakfast wasn't included. We knew that ahead of time, brought our own things, and used the kitchen available to guests. We were grateful they let us book for just one night, since many inns insist on a two-night minimum. Nothing to complain about, and we'd stay again next time we're in Ubatuba.

The first room was clean, but its TV was tiny and really old, and no water came from the shower. They moved us to another room right away. That one had a decent TV and a renovated bathroom with a working shower. Breakfast was simple but enough.

The pool was great after a day at the beach, and the air conditioning worked well. We also had a good bed and pillows in the room. Breakfast was delicious and generous, and the staff were incredibly polite and helpful. We had a really good stay at Pousa da Villa and would definitely come back.

When it got dark, it was clear the electricity wasn't coming back, and the place had no water either. We talked it over with one of the owners and the manager because staying there really wasn't workable. They told us guests who had already checked in had to use pool water to bathe. We agreed that we wouldn't be charged, but they went ahead and charged my card anyway. I emailed them, and they acted as if they didn't understand, then falsely said they wouldn't issue the refund we'd agreed on. I take a person's word seriously, so I absolutely can't recommend this place. We had booked for the 1st. When we arrived and found there was no power or water, we still went into the room to give it a chance after being told the utilities would return.
