Pousada Do Pescador

I paid R$750 per night, R$3,000 in total, and the price felt far too high for the service and poor facilities. The air conditioning had an electrical problem, and the toilet seat was broken. I reported it at reception every day, but the manager or owner didn't seem to consider fixing it a priority. The water ran out every night and only came back around 9 the next morning. The breakfast was mostly different kinds of bread and cake, with no eggs, tapioca, or sausage, and not even a sandwich press to make anything hot. The owner had apparently doubled or tripled the nightly rate without offering anything in return. Even the reception phone went unanswered when we called at different times on different days. I wouldn't recommend this place. Unfortunately, I had paid in advance through Booking and couldn't request a refund.

The only real plus was the location. This was one of my worst stays, and the cheap price ended up costing me. The staff, apart from the woman making cakes and setting up breakfast, looked unhappy and made the place feel uncomfortable. Our room wasn't clean. The sheets looked old and were stained and dingy, and the towels were just as bad, almost like floor rags. There was no bath mat, so the bathroom got completely wet after a shower. Breakfast included fruit and even Nutella, but hygiene was a problem there too. Everything was left uncovered, with nowhere suitable to cover the cold cuts, bread, or cakes. The cold cuts looked awful, as if they'd been frozen, and were clumped together. Cheap turned out to be costly.

We liked the view of the sea from our window, and the pool was nice. The location is very good, close to both restaurants and the beach. The rooms were comfortable, but the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly: there were hairs around, and the shower walls were visibly dirty. Arriving was disappointing. The man at reception seemed indifferent and unfriendly, and didn't offer to show us around. We were left looking for an elevator that wasn't there, since our room was on the fourth floor. Breakfast was average.

The room cleaning needs more attention. We had to ask for it instead of having it done daily, which would make sense at an inn so close to the sea. Even after asking, there were times it was forgotten. When Adriana did the cleaning, though, she did an excellent job. The location of Pousada Pescador is excellent, with plenty of places to eat nearby. The team was polite and attentive. Adriana was especially helpful and dedicated, and the woman in charge of breakfast was also lovely and caring. Breakfast was good, but more choice in breads, cakes, fruit, and juice would make it more complete.
