I ended up spending more of my vacation at the Pousada than out exploring 😂😂. The staff were so fun, charismatic, and lovely to be around. It’s an affordable, comfortable place close to both town and the beach. 10/10.

The sea wasn’t suitable for swimming when I visited, which was a shame. The beach is just a two-minute walk away, though, and the location is great. The place is simple but cozy, and the staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. They also gave me plenty of tips on where to go and what to do.

I always stay at pousada Tawian when I visit Ubatuba. It’s right in the center, on the corner near the theater and church, with the area’s most famous pizzeria close by. Some of the region’s best restaurants are nearby too, including Tempero Real, which delivers there. The pousada is pleasant, the bed linens are clean, and the staff are attentive. The breakfast is top notch. For me, it’s the best pousada in central Ubatuba.
