Pousada Vista do Itagua

We spent a week at the pousada and loved the view and the tasty breakfast. The pool was nice too, though it could be heated, since there isn’t much to do when it rains. The employee was attentive, but not very flexible. We had the master suite, which felt disappointing for the higher price. The sheets didn’t smell clean, and they were changed only once. Even after they were changed, they still didn’t smell clean. The mattress had a deep dip and seemed overdue for replacement. A smart TV that let us use our own phone would be better, and a hair dryer would be handy for people who might forget theirs. They’d need to improve a few things before we’d return.

The place is clean, attractive, and new, with a stylish look and a good breakfast. The room itself was pleasant, and the bed was soft. But I came for a restful break and ran into a lot of things I didn’t want to deal with. I chose it because of the photos and some recommendations I’d read. Getting there was rough: the road is dirt, uphill, and full of holes. That might have been fine with a high-clearance 4x4, but we didn’t have one. At arrival, the attendant, whose name I can’t remember, left me unsure what to do with our luggage. I could see rooms upstairs and downstairs and didn’t know where ours was. I went after him to ask, and found out the rooms were only downstairs. I didn’t like the welcome. It didn’t feel like a welcome at all. There were lots of mosquitoes in the room. The air conditioner, fan, and mini fridge were noisy, and the shower gave an electric shock when I tried to fix the hose, which kept slipping out at the top. There was no quiet-hours policy either. At 2 a.m., people were still laughing loudly in the game room. The view is beautiful, but it wasn’t worth the stress; from what I saw, plenty of apartments and pousadas have similar views. Parking was another hassle. The garage fits four cars, two in front and two behind, so someone has to move a car before you can leave. With the tight space, curve, and slight slope, it took about 10 minutes just to maneuver out. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The pool was really good, with a fantastic view, and the barbecue area and gourmet space were nice and well organized. Everything was tidy and clean, and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Lucas was a real friend to us. He helped us feel relaxed and at home. Our room had a mini fridge, air conditioning, and Sky TV with several channels unlocked, which was great for the kids. It’s a fantastic pousada if you’re after a peaceful, comfortable stay and an amazing view. The only downside was the bumpy access road. I definitely recommend it and will be back soon. Thanks!

We stayed here this weekend and I wanted to make sure to leave a good review. It’s in Itaguá, away from the busiest beaches, so it’s a nice choice if you want to relax. The place is beautiful and cozy, very clean, and the staff are helpful. We had the master suite, with a bathtub and a lovely view where you can see the sea. So relaxing. We loved our visit and will definitely return. Thanks for giving us such a lovely time!
