The place looks magical, like a wonderful spot to relax and meet people. We had booked a Tree-house, but heavy rain the night before made it inaccessible. The host kindly offered us another accommodation or a full refund, even though the situation wasn’t their fault. The person in charge was very kind, and we chose the full refund.

The beaches nearby are great, and the people working there were helpful and friendly. I loved the handmade bungalows and interiors, surrounded by nature. It’s one of the best places I’ve visited in Brazil, and I hope I can come back soon. Beleza e muito obrigado!

After three hours searching with our tired, hungry daughter, we eventually found a hotel room in town. Ubatuba is always busy, so book somewhere trustworthy. This was horrendous, and I’d avoid it completely. I’d give it 0/5 if that were an option. We’d booked the tree house for January 2018 and arrived with our young daughter. I’m only writing this now because I was ill. Neither my daughter nor I could climb the stairs, which take strength. There was only a dry toilet in the tree house, and my daughter and I saw poo in it. We went to the beach, and she was terrified to go back. When we returned, we explained we couldn’t stay. Before we arrived, I’d paid them the 1400 Brazilian Reais deposit they required. When we asked for it back, they became abusive and offensive. My daughter and I were crying. My husband tried to sort things out peacefully, but we had to leave with nowhere to go and lost the 1400 Reais. We didn’t have money to feed our daughter. I begged for our money back over WhatsApp. They told me KARMA would get me, said money wasn’t important, and said I should be grateful someone like me had a nice husband. I did what any mother would do. My daughter couldn’t stay there, and after those insults, neither could I. They blocked me on WhatsApp.
