Havana Palace Hotel I

The room, bed, and shower were all okay. The air conditioning had a problem when I arrived, and the receptionist had to come in and set up the remote. There was no sound insulation, so I could hear everything from the street. Parking in the hotel basement costs extra.

I've stayed here before, and it used to be better. The breakfast kitchen worker has been coughing for three days without a mask. Today we were the first ones there, but the floor was already dirty and sticky.

It's been a wonderful stay, and I definitely recommend the hotel and will come back. The staff here are consistently professional, so I chose to eat all my meals at the hotel. The market and bakery across the street were a different story: I was treated very badly and had to wait for staff to get off their phones before they'd serve us. It felt like we had to beg to buy anything there. I had the same experience at the restaurant next door where we went for breakfast.

The bar next to the hotel played loud music all night, keeping guests from resting, and the hotel should do something about it, call the police or whatever. Our check-in was almost an hour late because they said the previous guest had been ill and they were cleaning. If that was cleaning, I don't know what cleaning is: the floor was sticky with dirt, and the blankets smelled of other people's sweat. If you're looking for somewhere to rest after a long trip, avoid this hotel. Don't waste your money or time here.
