The staff are attentive and dedicated, though there aren’t enough of them, and the scenery is beautiful. Unfortunately, the stay was a negative experience for us. The property is remote and hard to reach. I knew the road was bad, but didn’t expect nearly 5 km of narrow, steep track, much of it covered in loose stones, where only one car can pass at a time. I suspect some cars couldn’t make it in the rain. The internal roads are even worse after check-in. The inn also needs better infrastructure, with no paved paths for people or cars, so it gets very muddy when it rains. The chalet has several structural problems. It’s extremely small, including a tiny bathroom, and the double bed is also very small, uncomfortable for two, and has no headboard. The curtains do a poor job blocking light. The air-conditioner drain drips onto the bathroom’s metal roof, making it impossible to sleep. The chalet roof is metal with very thin wood lining, so it feels like a sauna by day and a refrigerator at night. It also makes loud cracking sounds as it expands and contracts overnight. Room cleaning is available for an extra charge. Given the nightly rate, I think it should be included. I wouldn’t return or recommend the place.

We stayed at Vale Tancon, a peaceful retreat surrounded by the lush nature of the reserve on the slopes of Morro da Igreja in Urubici, at 1,500 meters above sea level. The cabin resort offers a special chance to immerse yourself in the greenery and tranquility of the area. Our cabin, Franco, felt luxurious, with excellent Wi-Fi, a coffee maker, minibar, wine cellar, and a hydromassage tub overlooking the mountains. The glass walls brought us close to nature and made the place feel open and peaceful. Each morning we woke to that stunning mountain view and felt as if we were in a private paradise. The sophisticated setting and quiet surroundings make Vale Tancon a memorable escape if you want to relax and reconnect with nature. We fell in love with the place and highly recommend it for a unique, restorative stay. It will stay in our memories for a long time.

The breakfast was varied, tasty, and clearly prepared with care. The hosts were also wonderful, always helpful with information and tips. I especially want to mention the receptionist Hailton, who put us at ease from our first contact, answered all our questions, and was always ready to help. We stayed in the couple’s chalet at Pousada Vale Tancon and had an incredible view of the mountains and sunset. The space was comfortable, cozy, and well kept, and we slept very well. It had everything we could think of: toiletries including shampoo, soap, and conditioner, plus robes, slippers, a wonderful heated bed, and a lovely tub with warm water. The kitchen was well equipped with an oven, coffee maker, stove, microwave, minibar, and wine cellar, as well as coffee, powdered milk, and sugar. The inn is peaceful and surrounded by nature, while still being near Urubici’s main attractions. One of the best lodging options in town, in my view. I highly recommend it, and we’ll definitely return.

Inside the chalet, the modern design is really tasteful, with heating, a heated sheet, fireplace, stove, air fryer, a fully equipped kitchen, tub, wine cellar, minibar, good Wi-Fi, and a TV. From the veranda, there’s a spectacular view of nature. Vale Tancon itself feels like a magical village in the forest. There’s a pond with pedal boats, bikes, and little spots to explore and recharge. Everything is put together with great care. It’s well worth a visit.

The view is one of a kind, and the place is beautiful, with lovely rooms. But we ran into several problems. The access road is very difficult without a 4x4. Our car got stuck on the way in, and we only got out because a kind passerby towed us. Rain makes the road even harder. There was only one staff member. She was very nice, but on her own and slow to respond, so requests were forgotten and we felt abandoned. The air conditioning in all three chalets we stayed in didn’t work. The light fixture over the tub was too low. When I stood up, I hit it, breaking it into dozens of glass pieces that cut both my wife and me. Breakfast was delivered in the morning, but we couldn’t ask for anything extra because nobody was available, or the person responsible was on vacation.
