Village Canedo

Really good.

This inn isn’t worth the price. The sink water came out yellow, a very strange shade, and clearly dirty. There was no water at all during our stay, so we had to shower outside the inn. The electricity was also never fully working and was on half power most of the time. The rooms and bathrooms are TINY. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, especially with your family.

It’s a simple place, fine if you just need somewhere to spend one night. I wouldn’t recommend it for a longer stay.

The beach is lovely and the view is beautiful, and despite the problems, we had some amazing days at the inn. There’s no lunch served there, but Thaís Gourmet is a very good restaurant about a five-minute walk towards Taquari, with good prices and service. The room had working air conditioning, a hot shower, a minibar, and a full-length mirror. The minibar was empty, though, so we stocked up at the nearby little market. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. The pool was okay, but we didn’t see anyone cleaning it during our three days there, and I expected staff to be quicker about turning on the waterfall when people were in the pool. We had several serious problems in room 54. Water leaked through the ceiling during the rain and soaked the sheets, the toilet kept leaking, the shower wiring gave us an electric shock, and worst of all, there was no water on Sunday morning. The leak couldn’t be fixed right away, so they offered us another room, but we declined because it had no balcony and was on the ground floor. Guto promptly found us another set of bedding. Since it only rained a little on one night, we didn’t have any further trouble with the leak. I asked for electrical tape to deal with the shower shock, and Guto went to get some straight away. We were without water for a few hours that morning. They said it wasn’t usual, but sometimes demand is high and the tank can’t keep up. The inn is good overall. We got a clean room, and Guto, the receptionist, was very friendly and helpful. We didn’t see Sr. Canedo very often, but he was also cheerful and kind.
