The new management is turning the place into a cultural center and bringing in a range of artists. On my very first day, there was a fantastic poetry gathering at the attached restaurant. It’s becoming more and more interesting for anyone wanting to get a feel for the local scene.

I booked through Booking, but the inn simply doesn’t respond. They ask you to deposit part of the price, so how am I meant to do that when they don’t answer emails, have no phone number, and haven’t even sent me the account details? Even worse, they say they’ll charge a 50% fee if I cancel. Charge me for something that doesn’t even exist? There’s no number to reach them. Completely unprofessional. Absurd!

The location on Itaparica island is excellent, and the people are pleasant and welcoming. The facilities are modest, but they meet the basic needs.
