Flor de Lis Hostel

Great.

Average.

I felt right at home during our pleasant, quiet week at this hostel, and the price was good compared with the other hotels and inns we looked at. The building is a little old, but it’s well organized and clean. The service was good too. We just had to wait for the employee to arrive because we got there before the expected time, so we received the entry code later, close to check-in. We stayed in a room with a single bed and a double bed so I could be there with my son. Our room had its own bathroom; the other rooms on our floor shared one. The kitchen, living room, and balcony were shared spaces too. The kitchen had a fridge, fruit bowl, pots and utensils, and a stove. Guests usually didn’t use it, but I bought groceries and cooked dinner two nights for me, my son, and two other guests who joined us at the table. There were rules about keeping things clean and putting back anything taken from drawers or cupboards. Our room and bathroom were clean, and we tried to keep them that way. I also washed clothes by hand in the laundry basin. Guests couldn’t use the washing machine, but we could hand-wash clothes and hang them on the line. At least our room had an outdoor area we could use. I’d definitely recommend it.

I’ve been trying to get in touch with them to make a reservation, but they don’t pay any attention. They don’t answer the phone, and they reply on WhatsApp then disappear and stop responding.
