Eleven Experience Bahama House

The staff were the best part of our stay, going out of their way for our family of five, including children aged 5 and 3 and a baby of 6 weeks. The compound is classic, chic, and beautiful, right in the center of Harbour Island. Our accommodations had stunning decor, and the flowers and pool were lovely. Food and drinks were five-star, too. We’re looking forward to coming back. Well done, Eleven!

Eleven Bahamas House is a quiet little oasis near the old-town character of Harbour Island. The rooms are spotless and carefully appointed, with a settler-era feel, and housekeeping is attentive with the daily setup. We appreciated the complimentary soft drinks and homemade snack, refreshed each day, plus the small bar snacks at 5pm with cocktails. The pool is lovely, and courtesy bikes make it easy to get around. Breakfast is freshly made by the talented in-house chef. At 10am, staff set up a peaceful stretch of sand in the north of the island with beds, music, and coolers of complimentary iced drinks. It isn’t beachfront, but they make a real effort to make a beach day easy. You can order food, which they prepare at the hotel and bring over by buggy, and there’s other gear for games as well. We hadn’t heard of Eleven as a boutique hotel group before, but I’ll look for their properties when we travel again. The Mr & Mrs Smith recommendation seems deserved. A straight five stars from us. The rooms and property were gorgeous and well kept, so it was a relaxing place to hang out between outings. The staff made the trip, though. We got to know Chris, Gareth, Evelyn, Kady, and the others, who were always friendly and went out of their way to help. They chatted with us, shared restaurant and activity recommendations, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our December stay.

The bikes came in handy for getting to the beach. One needed an adjustment, so we walked there, and when we came back the staff had brought the bikes down for us to ride home. The pool was awesome, and Evelyn and the rest of the team were very helpful. Chris at the on-site tiki bar was fantastic, too. My wife and I had a wonderful time, and the central location put most things within walking distance.
