Bell Channel Inn Hotel

I usually stay at Pelican bay when I’m in Freeport, but I booked a room this time because I like the food at bell channel. I’d always sit at the bar when dining there, so I ordered and got comfortable. A few minutes into my appetizer, a man came up, sniffling and talking loudly over my head to someone beside me. Then he put a chair right between us, with no consideration for our space. I got up and left my food behind. When I told the server, Ms Shamene Lodriqkes, she said, “Oh, it’s Happy Hour.” I’ve been to plenty of places during happy hour and never had someone push a chair right next to people to talk to someone else. Did I mention he was sniffling and coughing? They’re all White, and if I’d done that to one of them, you wouldn’t hear the end of it!

We went to "Upstairs on the Bay" for a family birthday, and the Bahamian food was authentically delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful, and we had great service. Prices are in line with similar restaurants. I’m never disappointed when we get the chance to eat there, and I’d confidently recommend it.

I stayed here by myself as a woman traveling alone and felt completely safe. The staff were kind and welcoming, and they took a real interest in how my stay was going. My room was fresh and very clean, with lovely soft linen that smelled wonderful. The restaurant and bar felt warm and cosy, with friendly service, a fantastic drinks selection, and some of the best food I’ve ever had. The location is especially good for diving, and the rates are a bargain. One of my best stays in the Caribbean. You feel like family here, and I won’t stay anywhere else when I’m in Grand Bahama.

We were glad we stopped in for breakfast. It’s a cosy restaurant with an island feel, and the friendly staff add to the Bahamian hospitality and atmosphere.
