The staff made our arrival feel easy, even after our crossing from Port Everglades ran late. Mr. K (Stephen) checked on us while we were still underway, and when we realized we'd reach the dock after hours, he arranged for a Customs representative to meet us there. The dock master then talked us into the harbor and helped us tie up. With security on site around the clock, we were comfortable leaving our fishing gear aboard. We also enjoyed the place itself. The rooms were spotless, the pool and resort were clean and cared for, and the restaurant food was tasty and reasonably priced. Downstairs from the restaurant there's a fun family area with comfy places to lounge, pool tables, ping pong, and foosball. The store had a good selection, and my wife picked up a few useful last-minute things, including a quality sun shirt. The team helped us get a golf cart and put us in touch with a local fishing captain, who came aboard to show us the local grounds. That kind of attention started as soon as we emailed the marina. We had a great stay and will be back.

The mussels were so good we came back for them every day. Wynter suggested them as a starter, and she was lovely from the moment we arrived at Hemining ways pizza part. She sat us by the bar with her, and we chatted for a couple of hours. She didn't seem to mind us talking her ear off at all. My boyfriend used to stay here as a kid, and he was amazed that the resort still looked the same. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Chef David also came through with the crab legs, and Wynter made the weekend even more fun. She took us out after her shift, and we had a great time. We'll definitely be back. Shout out to Wynter and Chef David!

The staff are great, the restaurant is one of our favorites, and that local island feel is something I hope never disappears. We keep coming back with our own boat, even though we have a house in Freeport. I first stopped at Big Game at 17 during a boat delivery, and now at 61 it's still one of my favorite places in the islands. It's an easy stop from the States, about 56 miles from FLL, and once you're there, you don't need to go elsewhere. The beach is a short walk away, and there are plenty of things to do nearby if you want. Within 10 miles you can find beaches where you can feed stingrays and see sharks. The kids loved playing basketball with some local children. Convenient, fun, up to date, and welcoming. A great day trip stop from Fort Lauderdale.

The only real plus for us was being close to the dive shop. The place was also very loud, right across from bars. We stayed a week with a group, and it felt more like a run-down Motel 6 than a resort. Our room had hair and sand in the sheets, plus hair in the sink and shower. The wall under the air conditioner showed mold, and another room had visible mold on the unit and wall. The food was mediocre at best, and rooms, food, and drinks cost more than at the upscale, clean casino resort. Even a nonalcoholic drink was $15. Service was awful, and the mandatory 20% tip on the bill didn't seem to give staff much reason to care. One waitress kept burning the pizza, made drinks wrong, and said they were out of things they clearly had. We ordered a pizza and half of it was burnt. When we mentioned it, she brushed it off as just a little burnt and walked away. She also said there was no strawberry syrup for my pina colada, so I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and she made that with the supposedly unavailable syrup. We would only go back if the guy was working, not her. The restaurants often shut well before their posted closing times because the kitchen closed early. Waitresses walked away while we were still ordering. The store was just as unhelpful. I asked for help finding a particular shirt and the woman at the counter said it was somewhere in there, even though no one else was in the shop.

Our members had a fantastic weekend at Big Game for the fishing tournament I hosted for CASF, Construction Association of South Florida. The staff were helpful, easy to work with, and accommodated all our requests. It really felt like paradise. I highly recommend it and can't wait for next year.
