The river views and the friendly, attentive staff made Le Méridien Paro feel welcoming. My room was spacious, with big windows, lovely scenery, and warm flooring. After hiking to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, the deep bathtub was a great way to unwind. Some of the food service could be better. The soup came in a teapot for in-room dining, leaving the prawns and chicken at the bottom. The naan was so crisp it was like papar or popaddam. The hi tea had too many deep-fried items for people who are more health conscious these days, though the sandwich was good and a few more snacks would be a bonus. The masala tea was only lukewarm. The packed breakfast was great, but the eggs would have stayed warm if wrapped in aluminum foil. Instead, the fruit was wrapped, and the apples were superb.

Mr. Depan Karki and Ms. Wangmo welcomed us warmly and understood what we needed. The team’s prompt service and genuine hospitality made the stay memorable. Mr. Dorjee Choden (loyalty executive), Mr. Ugyen Dorji (bartender), Ms. Jigme Choden (f&b supervisor), Mr. Narad Ghalley (f&b manager), Mr. Phurpa, Mr. Sonam Tobgay and Mr. Kinley (chefs), Mr. Nauraj Gurung, Mr. Bishal Rai, Mr. Sangey Ngedup, and many more treated us like friends and did their best to make our stay special. The room was spotless and beautifully designed, a warm and luxurious space. Meals were delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The hotel feels elegant, and I was impressed by the care given to every detail. I’d happily recommend it for a relaxing stay and hope to visit again.

Every room faces the river, so the view is lovely. The hotel also offers shoe cleaning and has cycles. Even in the off season, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Gorgeous views and outstanding service.

The hotel's price is high for both rooms and meals, and its polished international style may feel too global if you're after a purely local stay. Since it's outside Paro town, you'll need a car or taxi to get around. Still, I found the peace, comfort, and warm, attentive service worth those drawbacks. The staff were always smiling and helpful, and I felt genuinely cared for. My room had a private balcony over the Paro River, a cozy bed, and a spacious bathroom. It was large, clean, and thoughtfully laid out, a welcome retreat after days exploring monasteries and mountain trails. The indoor heated pool was another relaxing spot, with big windows framing the mountains. Before our Tiger's Nest Monastery hike, Mr. Ugyen prepared a packed breakfast early, a thoughtful gesture I won't forget. The setting is striking: the river runs right by the hotel, misty mountains rise around it, and the sound of the water made mornings feel unreal. It's peaceful and secluded, about a 15-minute drive from Paro town and around 20 minutes from the airport. The building combines sloped roofs, carved wood, and stone walls with a sleek, comfortable interior. It felt like a good balance of Bhutanese culture and modern luxury, in keeping with Bhutan's approach to sustainable high-end tourism that respects tradition. The food was a highlight too. Latest Recipe, the main restaurant, had a generous breakfast buffet with Bhutanese dishes and Western favorites. Sambuca served excellent pasta and pizza. Chef Rajat made delicious desserts and meals that added a personal touch. For me, this was a luxurious base for adventure, good food, and natural beauty.

We got to enjoy the Halloween celebrations during our three-day stay. The restaurant was decorated, the buffet dishes had fun names, and the servers dressed for the occasion. The kids had a wonderful time, with horns to wear, and were treated like royalty. I really enjoyed staying here.
