After getting some rest, I checked my bank statement and saw the first card payment hadn't gone through, so I paid again and it worked. Earlier, I’d arrived at 03:00 after a tiring 12-hour drive and border delays. The receptionist didn’t know how to use the card machine, and I hadn’t noticed the problem or taken a receipt. At 05:00, the owner or manager came to my door and told me to get up and pay before I could check things myself. I asked if he could hold my passport and car keys so I could sleep and sort it out later, but he wouldn’t agree. He called the police, who arrived at 07:00, after I’d managed to rest a little. I asked for a card decline report, but they couldn’t provide one. I wasn’t happy about being shouted at and threatened with the police when I’d asked for time to rest and resolve the issue later. I hadn’t even checked out yet, so all that harassment felt unnecessary. On top of it, there was no tissue, towel, or soap in the room. The worst service I’ve ever had.
