Maun Lodge

The massage was one of the most uncomfortable I’ve had. The masseuse started without asking what I wanted or explaining anything, and it became painful. There was no communication or adjustment during the treatment. The meals were another low point. We ate lunch, dinner, and breakfast at the lodge, but none were enjoyable. Service was slow, and our dinner waitress seemed uninterested. Breakfast was especially unpleasant, with flies landing on uncovered food and large spiders in the room. The food was bland and choices were limited. We were charged 15 USD each for the buffet, which we thought was included because our names had been checked off a list when we arrived. For that quality and location, the price felt completely unreasonable. I’d avoid eating there if possible. The hotel itself is pleasant, clean, and generally comfortable, though its furnishings are dated. Our room was a little dark but had what we needed for a short stay.

The chalet was a bit overpriced, but it was quiet, which was great. The pool was a decent size and very clean, and there was plenty of off-street parking. Boma Restaurant is nicely laid out, with good meal choices and daily specials at reasonable prices. The location is ideal, close to Maun Mall and about 10 minutes from the airport.

A good stop midway through a tour. I liked the pool and restaurant, and the gym was one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel. The room was fine, with two beds, AC, coffee, and a tidy bathroom. The other amenities were a nice bonus.

Three days in a row, I’ve waited more than two hours to check in. It takes hours. Worst place to book.
