Half the restaurant menu wasn’t available, and the local products were far too expensive. There was no power in the rooms, even though the filling station had power. Reception wouldn’t show us the room in the dark, and there were no room numbers. A waste of money. Drive around the corner and support Echo Lodge.

After night driving with game all over the road, we got there around 7:30pm exhausted and mentally drained. We had good food, hot showers and clean beds, then woke up happy and refreshed for the rest of the drive. 😊

On 3 January 2024, around 8pm, we stopped overnight on our way back from the Delta. The customer service at both the restaurant and lodge was the worst we’ve ever experienced. We’ll never set foot there again, let alone recommend it to anyone.

The room was otherwise comfortable, and the AC worked. Although the menu leaned heavily toward meat, the restaurant accommodated us with a nice vegetarian platter. The rest was frustrating: staff only reluctantly corrected a booking error, and reception was just as reluctant to fix incorrect restaurant charges. The windows had been left open, so mosquitoes and moths got in and I woke up with bites. There were dead insects on the floor, and the towels weren’t in the bathroom. I had to search the chest of drawers for them.
