We found the venue in a terrible state on the event day. We arrived at 11 a.m., when the hostess had said we could start, and nothing had been cleaned. Even the greasy dishes had been washed badly. Earlier, when we came to look around, the chairs were old, the kitchen was streaked with grease, the tables were basic folding ones, and the grill was still surrounded by old coals and rubbish. The grates hadn't been cleaned either, and the terrace was completely worn out and smelled like an old bathhouse. They'd promised it would all be cleaned before our event. We had to find another place in a hurry, but they kept our deposit, saying too many people had called. The venue itself is very beautiful, but we wanted it for a birthday and were asked for a deposit without a contract. They said the contract would only be made on the event day. Better to find somewhere else.
