Pretty rough and extremely basic.

The location right in the center is just perfect. It's an old Soviet-era hotel that's been renovated recently, and the place is clean, tidy, and modest. My single room was quite spacious and cost 90 rubles. It had a fridge, kettle, and TV, though a bottle of water and a couple of tea bags would have been nice.

I guess I'm getting older and less hard to please. Last year I wouldn't have rated this above a C, but building 3 has had work done, and those loose patches of wall putty have been repaired and painted over. I had the single room for 56 rubles. It was perfectly fine, and I could even sleep comfortably. The room was pretty good, though I insisted on choosing from three because I'm fussy. The main draws are the low price, decent comfort, and no road noise. The courtyard is quiet too, at least that's what the window view suggests, but there's noise from there starting at 7am. There are also utility rooms called "Batskou". As for the service, it mostly felt like, "Don't bother me, I'm so tired."

Being in a good location is about the only plus. My room faced the courtyard and was noisy, with a nearby restaurant or something staying open until 11:00 PM. The air conditioner was there but didn't work. The TV had no decent channels, just about 10 with Belarusian propaganda, and you had to press the remote buttons hard for them to respond. The hotel has that USSR feel in the worst possible way.
