Khleb Sol Guest House

Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the sauna was great, with a sauna bath and all the necessary amenities. We stayed at the Khleb & Sol guest house yesterday, and everything went perfectly. The hosts were welcoming, and their pets helped my wife, our dog, and me feel right at home. It's clean and cozy, a good fit for two people or a small group. Thanks to the hosts!

We went in August 2020, and the hosts were welcoming from the start. The house shares a property with the hosts' home, which initially worried us, but the layout gives you plenty of privacy. The house is clean and well kept, with comfortable large beds and excellent linens. There are two showers, which was especially handy after using the sauna, and the ground floor has a guest space with a fireplace, TV, sofa, a huge dining table, and kitchen. Upstairs is where the beds are. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and utensils, and there's an electric stove. On chilly August nights, the fireplace warms the house in just 5 minutes. Outside, there are flowers, spruce trees, a hammock, and swings. You also have what you need for barbecues and shashlik. We got to cook shashlik before it started raining, but the canopy kept us dry, even in a downpour. Breakfasts were tasty and filling. After evening barbecues with shashlik and other treats, breakfast kept us going all day. Bikes are available for a nominal rental fee, and they were in good condition and well maintained. Those three days left us with only good impressions. It felt like being welcomed with love at your grandmother's village home, with delicious pancakes and jam. I could say a lot more about this place and its owners, but experiencing it is better than reading about it a hundred times. Thank you, Anna and Petr. Keep it up, and we'll come back every year. The cottage felt so cozy and welcoming, and it was dressed up for New Year's 🎄🎄🎄. The food was delicious too, so I definitely recommend coming here. I want to return! P.S. There's a neat trick with the double mattresses :) They're two mattresses joined with a zipper, so you can make a separate sleeping area below, apart from the upper space. The photo shows one on a "bench". :)

The shower deserves a mention: every surface, even the wall and floor tiles, was spotless. Whoever keeps it that way deserves kudos. It was such a relaxing, warm shower. And Anna made us a delicate Medovik cake just for our anniversary. It was exactly the right size for my husband and me. My husband and I were thrilled with our stay. Huge thanks to Petr, Anna, and the whole family for the hospitality and all their kindness. The quiet was the best part. For two people, this house is a real gift to the nervous system of anyone who lives and works in a city. Time seems to stop here. We lit the candles provided, put on music, and sat in the rocking chair upstairs. Another evening, we poured a delicious drink into the glasses they provide, opened the upstairs window to feel the night breeze on our shoulders, and talked about life on the sofa under the roof. The kitchen is a little nook beneath the stairs, but it has what you need: a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, countertop induction stove, pots and pans, bowls and plates in different sizes, and plenty of mugs and glassware. Everyone has their own idea of what's needed, so I won't claim everything is provided, but we had what we needed for a comfortable stay. The Smart TV has pay-per-view movies, and we found plenty to watch. Breakfast was another highlight. It was delicious and huge, and we took our time trying all of it. Don't be surprised if lunch feels like a challenge afterward. Photo included. Outside there are buns, a barbecue, wooden swings, a trampoline, and dogs.
