Kronon Park Hotel

This is about the restaurant, not the hotel. I went there for my birthday, expecting something like my good experience from seven years ago, but the visit was a shame. There were four of us, three locals and me, and the waiter/host was unwelcoming and rude throughout. He seemed smug, got impatient with every question, and spoke to us in a demeaning way. The food was poor for all of us, with low-quality ingredients and mediocre preparation. My chef's special meat steak was badly grilled and far too salty. The borsch tasted like beetroot juice, without the depth a good borsch should have. Then came the Remy Martin XO, which I regret ordering. They charged 80 rubles, although places like Houdini bar sell it for 40-50, and served an almost invisible amount that smelled strongly of alcohol. I love cognac and always have a bottle at home, so I'm 100% certain it wasn't Remy Martin XO. You shouldn't be able to taste or smell alcohol like that in a cognac of this kind. When I challenged the waiter, he argued that it was genuine and offered to show me the bottle. I had no way to trust that was what they'd poured, or that the bottle hadn't been filled with cheap cognac. He took it back when I asked for a return, but still charged the full 80 rubles and offered a complimentary Jägermeister instead. Seriously, Jägermeister instead of XO Remy Martin? For a place of this caliber, the whole experience was unacceptable. Shame on them.
