Praga Hotel

We celebrated a big anniversary for my dad, and it was a lot of fun sitting around with the huge group. The food was delicious, and the music was great. Prague is a great place, open until 2:00 a.m.

We'd read the reviews and braced ourselves for the worst, but the staff turned out to be very friendly. We stayed for a day, and found a varied menu with low prices. We ordered potato pancakes, and one serving could have fed all three of us for dinner! The room was clean and felt homey, and they were happy to cater to any request.

We stayed while waiting in line at the border, and the room was better kept and cleaner than I expected. A good shower and comfortable bed made it a great overnight option. There's parking on site, with some potholes, but it's under video surveillance and floodlit all night, so that was fine. Quite acceptable overall.

The food was tasty and inexpensive, and I liked this hotel. We slept well because there was no disco that evening, and the room was clean, with no mold or bad smell. They'd washed everything with bleach before we arrived. There weren't any appliances in the room, which was a shame, but not a big deal. If you're traveling by car, you should like it, unless you're a sophisticated swank. My own comparison comes from spending several years sleeping in Lithuanian barracks where prices were at least twice as high.
