The pine scent is what really sticks with you. Our room had all the basics for a comfortable stay, from a bed and storage to a desk, TV, air conditioning, a shower, and a balcony looking over the city. Kids can play outside, and there’s a handmade swing too. We also liked the big covered spot downstairs beneath the grapevines for gathering in the evening. The host is warm and welcoming, and happy to tell you about Mira’s history and show you around. There’s a Russian banya as well if you fancy a steam.

It’s about a ten-minute walk to the castle. We had a snug room with a veranda facing it, and the grounds are spacious, with a gazebo and swings. There’s also a little garden with apple and pear trees and pumpkins, plus cats, a dog, and chickens. The host is hospitable and knows the local area well, and was glad to share its history.

Mir Castle is about a ten-minute walk away. The owner knows the area and likes sharing what he knows. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s quiet and cozy, and the accommodation price seemed reasonable.

The owner is a real gem, and the place has that quiet, peaceful feel. Looking out the window straight at the castle was stunning. It took me back to childhood, like a stay at my grandmother’s in the village. The price was reasonable too.
