I had a large room with a comfortable bed and great amenities. The rooms were clean, the water stayed hot, and I appreciated having private parking. The outdoor seating area was a nice touch. The management kept everything tidy, and the location has an impressive view. Make sure to see the castle lit up at night.

The view of Mir Castle and the available bathhouse were the positives. Otherwise, I’d only stay at this estate if I had no other option. Service was 1 out of 10. Three days before arrival, the owner found out that four of our 17 people couldn’t come and openly berated us. He also scolded us for not calling an hour ahead, even though we’d given him our estimated arrival time five hours earlier. At times he took over a day to answer Telegram messages. He wouldn’t calculate the final accommodation cost a week before we arrived, and didn’t keep to the price we’d agreed on: instead of 60 rubles per person, he charged 80 rubles for two people because one room had “increased comfort.” There was no soap in the outdoor restroom. The owner said he’d refill it after I brought it up, but didn’t. There weren’t enough dishes either: just eight forks for 13 people, no cups, and a badly worn frying pan. The gas stove didn’t work, leaving only one electric stove. Neither house had a toilet inside, so we had to use the one outdoors. Two months before our stay, the owner demanded a 20% deposit. I paid it, though I don’t know how legal that was since no contract had been signed and there was no offer agreement. He kept a copy of the contract and gave me neither a copy nor a receipt.

We were new to Mir, and the welcoming host helped us figure out where to eat and what to see. The place is clean and tidy, with Mir Castle right in front of you. A lovely spot to relax, highly recommended :)

The estate itself is wonderful, and I’d visit it again. But one person ruined the experience for everyone. I’m sure the host will have his own answer to this review, since he seems to think this is normal. One star for the location. He was an unpleasant, impossible character. We were driving in from another city, and the slight delay seemed understandable to me, but he acted as though it affected his life and started refusing to let us into the cabins. It was a wedding, everyone was grown-up and behaved decently, nobody even shouted, and yet he kept walking around the estate until evening, monitoring us. We had rented it for the day, so I don’t understand why he was policing the adults. The party was still going when he told his staff to clear the dishes. What did he think of his clients? The newlyweds went to discuss it with him, and he insisted on turning up at midnight to tell them to their faces that the dishes had to be cleared. Only after the groom, who’s very hard to anger, started arguing did he finally let the cleaners do the dishes. It sounds absurd, but then he told the newlyweds they had to wash them all in the morning. He didn’t give them a second copy of the contract or any receipts. He insisted he was right and accused the bride of forgetting their agreement “under the circumstances.” She wasn’t drinking, by the way. The host was drinking when the wedding began. For that kind of money, it seems the estate caters to one person, the owner. He ruined everyone’s mood.

We were in town with the kids for a concert at Mir Castle and needed somewhere to stay quickly. We were offered a little house for 500 BYN or a room for 150 BYN, and picked the room since it seemed cheaper 🏡. The bed and room were good, and everything was clean 🧹, though one door didn’t shut properly and the shower drain was poor. Apart from that, it was quite nice. The owner was extremely strict and busy, and we had to run around for ages to get the room, like something out of “NOT THE CLIENT IS ALWAYS RIGHT.” It’s very expensive 🫰💰, which is a shame. In Vitebsk, we rented an APARTMENT for 50 BYN, while here we paid 150 BYN for a ROOM. If Mir Castle had an admission fee too, traveling with two children would have left me completely offended.
