Granat Park-hotel

The grounds are the highlight, 5 stars from me. There are gazebos, barbecue spots, a sauna, chained benches, a themed photo board, and a trampoline. The location gets 4 stars: an abandoned building nearby spoils the view, and the private grounds mean no noise after 11 PM. I’d give the hotel 4 stars too. I arrived at 2:20 PM, though check-in is at 2:00, and my room still wasn’t ready. They sorted it out by upgrading me. My friends had booked a double bed, but that room was occupied, so they were moved to a room with twin beds 🤷🏼. The room had a bed, TV, wardrobe, and shower, with towels, soap, and shampoo. There’s no air conditioning. You can ask reception for a hairdryer or iron, and there’s a fridge, kettle, and microwave in the hallway. At 65 rubles (about $22) per bed, it’s expensive. I went to a celebratory banquet at the cafe/restaurant. The food was 4 stars: some dishes were just so-so, and the chicken fillet stuffed with mushrooms was dry, but the shashlik was good 👍🏻. Service in the cafe deserves 5 stars. The restaurant runs until 2:00 AM and the music lasts until 1:00 AM. Since it’s a private sector, they should keep the restaurant door closed after 11:00 PM so the music doesn’t disturb local residents. The receptionist said Granat is popular with business travelers 😊

The manager canceled my cafe booking even though I’d been told a deposit would confirm it. On February 10, I reserved a table for 10 in the small hall for March 7th, and was asked to pay 50 rubles within two days. The next day, the manager called to say a banquet in the large hall had added guests, so they would also use the small hall and refuse my order. When I asked why the other customers got priority, the manager didn’t answer. It seems even a prepayment would just have been refunded. A reservation and payment clearly don’t guarantee your order won’t be canceled at any time. I’ve never encountered this kind of treatment as a customer before.

The place felt really cozy, and the staff were so welcoming. I stopped by the hotel today to meet some friends, and the coffee and cheesecake were beyond praise. Thank you.

We visited the cafe on October 29, 2021. At first it seemed cozy, with nice music, but then they brought us the bill and told us to pay and leave without explaining why. When I asked an employee, she said we were behaving badly because the man with us had taken off his shirt during a contest. The task was to walk down the runway impressively, and he put his shirt back on afterward. As we were leaving, people at the neighboring tables asked why we were being kicked out. That made me think our behavior hadn’t offended anyone or disturbed the other guests. They could have come over and spoken to us if something bothered them. I think we could have worked it out. Instead, they threw us out, and our evening was ruined. I hope the staff learn how to speak to guests.
