Rainbow Hotel

A real highlight of our trip. The front desk woman was wonderful and very accommodating, and the location was superb. Stingray beach is just a short walk away, as is everything else on the island. Our room was much bigger than expected, clean, and comfortable, with powerful A/C.

Ernie, the proprietor, was the best, and the customer service was 10/10. Rainbow Hotel is right in the middle of the fun in Caye Caulker, with several grocery stores nearby. Rainbow Grill across the street serves fantastic fresh seafood. The hotel has everything you need.

Casa A was fairly clean, though the kitchen could use a proper scrub. It can sleep six, but there are only four kitchen chairs and not enough silverware for a full group of six. I also think a toaster would be a nice addition. Even with those gaps, it’s well located, good value, and still a very good place to stay in Caye Caulker with kids.

A decent place, with staff who are incredibly kind in a quiet, polite way. Take time to talk with them and they’ll look after you and offer good advice. It’s on the main street, across from the beach, with stores, restaurants, supplies, and the ferry about a five-minute walk away. No taxi is needed unless you have lots of luggage. The first-floor rooms are quieter. Rooms in the middle have stools you can use to sit and watch people over the rail, or you can stand there. Cushions for the lounge chairs are in a cabinet to the left of the office. There’s daily room service for fresh towels and a bed refresh, plus a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The air conditioner worked well. The cleaning woman is very sweet and shy, and she usually takes Mondays off. The office is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so let them know when you’ll arrive. Get there before 5:00 pm or make special arrangements. This is common in Belize. Bikes are 15 bz a day, or $7.50 USD. Rent one in the morning when the office opens around 9:00 am, since it closes for lunch in the afternoon. Return the bike by 6:00 pm.
