Shipwreck Cove

The pool and deck were so peaceful, and seeing the crocs in the channel was very cool. We also loved meeting their lovely furbabies. Sarah, Conrad and Daughter Chelsea were friendly and accommodating, and the room was adorable and very clean, with a really comfortable bed and lovely little details. Coffee and tea were provided in the room. We stayed Jan 4th -6th and loved the quiet location. Borrowing bikes made it easy to get around town. We’d definitely stay again. It really felt like a home away from home. We made good use of the full kitchen and shared spaces, and the views from the upper balcony were fantastic. The house and rooms are beautifully decorated, and the pool is amazing. Sarah and her family were warm, welcoming hosts, always ready with advice and information that helped us have a wonderful time in Caye Caulker. I can’t say enough good things about Shipwreck Cove. What a hidden gem!

We spent a week here and had a wonderful time. The hosts were very nice, and the adorable dogs made our stay even better. It’s a bit far from the town center, but they provide bicycles, so getting around was no problem.

They wouldn’t let us check in because we had a two-year-old with us, and they didn’t refund us. I suspect they were overbooked and kept our money. The Hotels.com listing we booked through didn’t say children weren’t allowed or that it was adults only. The location wasn’t great for us either. It’s on the opposite side of the island from the beach, activities, and restaurants, about a 25-minute walk away. There are lots of better places to stay for lower prices and closer to everything.
