Brahma Blue Resort felt private and special, like a hidden island that hasn’t been overmanaged. We’ve been to fancier resorts with more amenities and attention, but the experience here felt personal. You’re left to yourself, but if you need something, they’ll make it happen. They arranged a private late-night boat back to the resort, changed massage bookings at the last minute, and even offered to bake us a key lime pie. There isn’t really a front desk, and the resort was quiet even while other places we visited were crowded. Many apartments seemed to be owned by expats or rented long-term, with only a few available to tourists. The villas are spacious with lovely views, and the pool is beautiful, with massages offered poolside. The single restaurant kept good hours. Staff numbers seemed low, but everyone was friendly and genuinely interested in getting to know us, with real Belizean charm. One evening we spent hours drinking and talking with the bartender while 80s and 90s hits played. It was unforgettable. We also met Sugar, an expat who offers boat tours, and her son by the pool. Hearing why she chose to make this her home, you can understand it. Don’t expect Four Seasons or a big-name resort. It’s more like a quirky, welcoming bed and breakfast with the scale of a large resort and a relaxed, family-style feel. This is the sort of stay you remember, while the fanciest places can all blur together.

The grounds are beautifully cared for, with spots to relax, do yoga, or play with kids. The pool has loungers and shade, and our young son loved its shallow end. Our room was spacious and well-kept, with drinking water, coffee, and all the kitchenware we needed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Daryl, the manager, went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Captain Dino and his father made sure everyone traveled safely to and from the island by boat. When we couldn’t fit the regular schedule, they kindly made a special trip for a small fee. Check out the Coconut Cafe if you stay at Brahma Blue. We had a wonderful time.

It felt like having a private island of our own, since you have to take a shuttle boat to shore. The living space was more than adequate, and the service was exceptional. The office staff member checked with us every day to see if we needed anything. They called before we arrived to arrange a golf cart, which was waiting for us when we got there. I can’t say enough about how friendly and accommodating everyone was. Loved it!

We stayed in H11 with our children and had a fabulous time. The condo had the amenities we needed, including a kitchen that was really handy with kids. The views from both the front and back were magnificent, and we watched the sunset every evening. The pool was a hit with the kids. Captain Dino was very accommodating with the boat, and Darryl at the front desk was always available when we needed him. It was about five minutes from town, yet the condo was in a peaceful, relaxing spot.

We visited in May and had a wonderful stay. The rooms were spacious and the A/C was excellent. We enjoyed sunsets from the balcony and relaxed by the pool every day, a welcome break from the heat. It was also fun to take the kayaks around the back bay. Darryl greeted us when we arrived and made sure we were comfortable throughout the stay. The service was exceptional, and we hope to return.
