Matachica Resort & Spa - Adults Only

The sunrise from our casita each morning was such a peaceful, unforgettable start to the day. My boyfriend and I stayed here, and I’d give it more than five stars if I could. We were welcomed with a delicious drink and escorted to a beautiful casita with thoughtful decor that felt warm and inviting right away. The whole resort is stunning, but the staff made the biggest difference. Everyone we met was smiling, upbeat, and genuinely kind. You can tell they love their work. We loved taking a canoe straight from the resort to snorkel with rays and sharks. Being able to do that right there felt surreal. Each afternoon we came back to fresh cookies waiting in the casita, another sweet touch, and the food was incredible every time. From arrival to departure, everything was seamless. The place exceeded our expectations in every way, and the staff made our Belize trip even more special. We’re already dreaming about coming back. 💙

The trip was memorable from the moment we landed at Tropic Air. The staff met us, took us by boat to the resort, and had complimentary drinks ready, which were yummy. Our oceanfront spot was beautiful, and fresh coffee showed up each morning. Breakfast was just right to get the day going. We rented golf carts and explored, from Secret Beach to the little shops around the island. Everyone, at the resort and on the snorkeling tour, was excellent, always smiling and making sure we had what we needed. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Thanks to all the Matachica staff and the people of San Pedro.

We really enjoyed having kayaks and paddle boards available, and there were plenty of excursions and events to choose from if you wanted to head out for a dive or snorkel instead of relaxing at the resort. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout. For food, Taco Tuesday was legendary, and so were the huevos rancheros at breakfast. We also loved our full body spa treatments, my skin and hair still feel amazing, and the private pier dinner felt special. We celebrated our second anniversary in Casita Apricot, which was beautiful. They decorated the room and left us a complimentary bottle of champagne. The resort's style really celebrates the island. We highly recommend Matachica.

We stayed in a seafront Casita, so stepping out of our hut meant sand underfoot and the ocean right there. The resort is small, maybe 60-70 guests at most, which made the service feel personal and gave us a chance to get to know staff and meet other couples. Tony, Jose, Carlos, and Julio were our standout servers. It's a lovely boutique place for unwinding. One tip, eating at the indoor bar lets you order from both restaurants, so you can mix and match dishes.
