Mondi Lodge

Mondi Lodge felt like a little oasis, with birds, friendly dogs, and a great coffee machine for lattes and cappuccinos throughout the day. After exploring in the sun, it was a lovely place to unwind. My husband and I stayed there in January and enjoyed the location for getting around the island. Danita made an incredible breakfast every morning and shared a local guide to help us find beaches for snorkeling. We loved it.

We spent four nights at Mondi Lodge and found it peaceful and beautiful. Danita welcomed us with useful information about the property and was so friendly and helpful. She even showed my daughter around to see the animals. Our family loved the fruit trees and wildlife, and the staff were pleasant. Breakfast was amazing too. It’s a lovely place to relax together, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for some serenity.

The homemade breakfast each morning is something we’ll miss. The rooms are simple, but we were comfortable, and we’re glad we chose this place over a bigger resort. It has more of a B&B feel, and Danita, Janine, Ben, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. We loved sharing the property with the donkeys, hummingbirds, dogs, Charlie the cat, and all the iguanas and geckos. It’s also well placed for reaching the western beaches, with Willemstad about a 20-minute drive away. Rent a car and go beach hopping. A memorable Curacao stay if you’re after somewhere off the beaten path.

You can find some peace in this little oasis near the city, though the nearby street means there’s some noise to put up with. There are so many thoughtful details, and the breakfast is the best. I still miss it. The people are the best part, too. They care for nature and the animals, and they look after you as well. Thank you, Danita and the rest of the team 🫶🏼
