Boho Bohemian Boutique Hotel

I paid $162 USD for a loud, smelly room without a blanket or working wifi. Honestly, I feel scammed. The only thing going for the place is that it looks a little cool, once you get past the cringe dollar-store decor inside. The front gate was broken and didn't lock, so anyone could get onto the property. There's no shuttle service despite the advertising. When we messaged on Whatsapp, they told us to get our own taxi. We managed, and it was easy, but we booked this place specifically for the shuttle. There was never anyone at the front desk to help with our problems, despite the advertised 24/7 concierge. The bed was so high I had to jump to get on, and had no blanket, just a thin sheet. There were only two tiny, lumpy pillows and three even tinier decorative ones for two people. The TV remote batteries were dead, so we had to swap them with the AC remote batteries every time we wanted to use either. The area was very loud all night, with yelling inside and outside the property and loud motor vehicles. The “pool” was a joke, like an old repurposed decorative fountain, maybe big enough for two people. There was no hot tub, though advertised. The plumbing smelled horrific and stunk up the room. There was hair when I lifted the toilet seat. There was no bar either, despite the advertising. So many things were advertised that were a blatant lie. Wifi was down and unusable during our stay.

I liked the color and style of the basic room, which had everything I needed, and the hotel was nicely decorated. Pietermaii is central and quiet, with pretty much everything within walking distance. There are cute cafes and restaurants nearby, and free parking in front. The staff were lovely, and Stella was especially welcoming. It's good value for money, and I'd recommend it and stay again. The water temperature and pressure could be better, and showering floods the bathroom. I also wish there were blackout curtains. It's nice that guests can use the pool and other facilities at the sister hotel, but having to go there for nearly everything, including towels and reception, is a little annoying.

I lost my debit card during breakfast, and I'm glad it happened at this hotel. The staff texted to say they'd found it and kept it safe for me. Great location, clean rooms, a cozy hotel, and incredible service.

The hotel has a calm, peaceful feel, but you're still close to everything. We felt right at home and loved being able to relax, take cute photos, and be near all the action. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights at Boho Boutique Hotel and loved it. It's right in the heart of Pietermaai, within walking distance of great restaurants, bars, and the city center. Our room was spacious, stylish, and super comfortable, with a loft-style layout and thoughtful little design details throughout.
