Curacao Suites Hotel

The photos the hotel posted don't show what the place actually looks like. The rooms are old and run down, and the hotel badly needs updating. The bar staff member, a short young woman, was super rude. The location is very close to everything, and with investment in improvements this could be amazing. The man with grey hair at the front desk was so sweet and helped me with everything he could. His kindness was the only reason I stayed instead of cancelling and going somewhere else during my trip, and the only reason this hotel gets any stars from me.

All the staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and my friend and I had a wonderful four-night stay. Our room had parking on the premises, and although there weren't many spots, we never had trouble finding one. The location was excellent, just a couple of minutes from the floating bridge and the colorful buildings, a great place for photos and sunset. We booked a room with two beds for four, but there were only two of us, so it felt huge. The bathroom had a good-sized shower and double sink. There was also a sink and mini fridge. Everything worked and was clean, though the water pressure wasn't very strong. Beach towels could be rented at the front desk, and ice was free. There's a restaurant on the second floor.

The central location and low price were good, and the people were very kind. Food was good too, but the hotel needs updating. There was a leak in the hallway and a broken shower in one room, so I was moved. The new room was okay, though its cabinet was unstable and nearly fell over. There was only one U.S. plug outlet, and I needed more to charge my hearing aids and two phones, so we improvised. I asked for washcloths, which aren't commonly provided here, and for a bedding blanket; they brought the blanket.

The service was great, the price was right, and the rooftop restaurant had very tasty Indian food. The rooms were a bit run down, honestly, so it was worth the price but only just. I ended up needing somewhere at the last minute after Aqualectra held my electricity hostage, so read that review too. I'd stay again, but not with any of my "choosy" family or friends.
