Papagayo Beach Hotel

Be sure to pack insect repellent in the rainy season, and rent a car if you want to see the island. There’s an expensive supermarket nearby, and the private beach and pool are a five-minute walk away, though part of the route is quite steep. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our villa had a great view, big rooms, good showers, and comfortable beds. A great spot for a sunny holiday in Curacao. Highly recommended, and I’d stay here again.

The Front Office team, including Landiz, Hector, and Cindy, greeted us by name each day and seemed to know what we needed before we asked. They also made sure the birthday decorations I ordered looked exactly as I’d pictured them. We loved the meals at the Beach Club and Zest, and we’re already planning another visit. This was one of our best holidays. We chose Papagayo Beach Resort for our son’s birthday and the end of summer, and the OV villa was spacious, bright, comfortable, and better than we’d hoped. We booked more than four weeks ago and weren’t disappointed. Thank you for making the stay so memorable.

The villas were really nice for relaxing, and I liked them a lot. A few things need work: give us handheld showers instead of those awful, inefficient overhead ones; add a proper “do not disturb” sign, since cleaners came to my door twice while I was in my underwear and even “No thank you” doesn’t always stop them; and make some dedicated paths for walking, because not everyone wants to drive 150 meters.

For what we paid, the villa didn’t feel worth it and didn’t match the photos. We booked a three-bedroom place advertised with an ocean view, but the ocean was barely visible and the view didn’t meet that description. The villa was very basic, without even screens to keep out mosquitoes, lizards, and other bugs. We were very disappointed, and the accommodations made our time in Curaçao feel subpar. As someone who travels often, I don’t think this property met expectations or can recommend it. When I return to Curaçao, I’ll stay somewhere else.
