Alpine Inn

It’s 12:30 AM on a Friday and I’m sitting in the lobby with my service dog, unable to get into a room I’ve already paid for. I booked using a credit card, but when the clerk asked for it at check-in, I realized it was missing. I’m hoping it’s in the Uber we took here, though at this hour on a Friday I doubt I’ll hear back from them soon. The clerk said they wouldn’t take a cash deposit or enter my card details manually, even though it was the same card used to book. I thought that was strange, so I asked someone else staying there, a person smoking a pipe with a bubble on it, whether he’d left a cash deposit. He said he had, then insisted it wasn’t their policy when I told him what the clerk had said. I couldn’t find anything about this on the website. I often carry cash, and I just wanted to shower and sleep in the room I’d paid for. Instead of calling the manager, the clerk called the police on someone quietly waiting in the lobby with a service dog. It seemed like he could have taken a cash deposit and returned it in the morning once he saw we’d only slept in the bed. He said his manager would fire him for doing that, even though they had accepted cash from other guests. After my four-page stay review, I’d strongly recommend staying well away from this place.

I checked in and left straight away. There were guests fighting in the parking lot, and a woman stood naked in the doorway next to our room. Inside, the room smelled of cigarettes, and there were stains on the sheets, bathroom door, and counter. The front desk was rude and brushed off our concerns. We didn’t feel safe, and the stay was non-refundable. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I felt uncomfortable the whole time and thought the atmosphere was sketchy. The place seemed dirty, and the staff were unprofessional. One of the worst motel stays I’ve had. Save your money and book somewhere else.

The carpets were stained, the room smelled musty, and the place looked dirty and poorly maintained compared with the online photos. Even basic amenities seemed like an afterthought. This was a very disappointing stay at Alpine Inn, Abbotsford. The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful from the start, with no greeting, and treated my questions as a nuisance. When I raised problems with the room and service, management brushed me off and acted as if I were the problem. The way they handled guests and complaints felt careless, as though they only wanted my money and had little interest in offering even basic hospitality. Between the poor cleanliness and service, I wouldn’t recommend Alpine Inn in Abbotsford, even for one night. There are cleaner, better places in the area. This stay was stressful, frustrating, and a waste of money.
