Regis made the stay special. He was kind, honest and funny, always ready to help, and his smile brightened the place. He seemed to be running things himself, aside from a few cleaners and one or two employees, so patience goes a long way. The room was spotless and spacious, with a breathtaking river view even from the bathroom. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up, despite initially doubting the light-looking cover would keep me warm. And the food! La Bouche Des Goute was unlike anything I'd tasted, even after eating at plenty of restaurants in Quebec and elsewhere. The portions were well sized, though prices are steep. I had bread with cheese, duck, then custard and ice cream, and honestly cried because it was so good. My mom's lamb came on a wooden board with extra vegetables, and was a huge serving. The atmosphere was romantic, and breakfast was fabulous too: ham with real maple syrup, home fries, eggs, bread and jam. I usually skip breakfast, but this was filling and delicious. I wouldn't let the bad reviews put you off. Some seem to reflect mistakes by others, yet get counted against Regis. Give him a chance and be patient. ❤️

Regis and his staff really tried to make our stay enjoyable. We booked a few nights and an anniversary dinner for our 32nd anniversary, wanting to do something different while visiting Canada. The hotel sits in the countryside about a mile outside Baie St. Paul, looking over the inlet. We liked the comfortable room and good breakfast. We'd chosen dinner after seeing online recommendations, and were surprised to find the owner, Regis, wears so many hats, including chef. The meal was his choice, with very fresh ingredients, well prepared and thoughtful touches. It was excellent, one of the best meals I've had in quite a while.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the location was great. We also used the hot tub and electric chargers. Regis gave us amazing service through a difficult time, and his breakfasts were fantastic. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

So glad we came across this place, just a few minutes' drive from the crowds in the centre ville. We had a wonderful meal, with excellent food and service, the best we've had in Charlevoix and Quebec City. The restaurant has reopened after being closed last year because of Covid. Regis is a terrific chef and host. Highly recommend!

The rooms were lovely and clean, and the beds were fabulous. Regis, the owner and chef, was professional and the meals were excellent, 10/10. I highly recommend L’Estampilles. You'll love your stay!
