My family had traveled from Sault Ste Marie to Southern Ontario for a hockey tournament, but the first place we'd booked was awful and we got into a big argument with the staff, so we left. After driving around for half an hour and searching online, we found the Holiday Inn Express in Barrie. Darlene at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helped us out. She showed real compassion about what we'd just been through, and her professionalism is something Holiday Inn should be proud of. She made my family feel welcome and like we mattered. Ten stars for Darlene's service and friendliness, and ten stars for the Holiday Inn Express in Barrie.

Heidi greeted me and went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable and safe and get the rest I badly needed. The housekeepers I met were friendly and chatty, and I especially enjoyed sharing an elevator ride with the elderly gentleman. Mary Lewis, the general manager, is lucky to have these people on her team. I hope they get the recognition they deserve. I had a wonderful stay, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I had to stop in Barrie unexpectedly because of a snowstorm, and Darlene at the front desk took extra care to find me a comfortable room at a good price. She made sure I felt safe and looked after, and I'm very grateful. The room was spacious but cozy, with a kitchenette, and the hotel was clean and well located within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Everyone I met was kind and helpful. I'd recommend it, and thank you again, Darlene!

Parking was easy and accessible, and the staff made check-in and checkout smooth and efficient. They were friendly and helpful throughout. The rooms felt fresh and organized, with comfortable beds and everything clean and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast was a nice extra, with a good selection of hot and cold food.

The fridge still had old food in it, and the previous guests' reservation card was left behind. My key card kept causing problems, and the customer service was poor. The walls are paper thin, so I could hear everything in the rooms around me. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
