The bar below sends so much noise through the room that a weekend stay means very little sleep. This place doesn’t feel family-friendly, it seems better suited to people coming from the bar. It’s a white hole.

The heating barely worked when I stayed in the middle of winter, and the place was dirty and poorly maintained. The bigger issue was what happened with my Booking.com reservation: after I paid, the hotel marked it as a no-show and canceled it there, which caused trouble for my account. When I called, the person on the phone was rude and vaguely said they had problems with booking sites and no longer dealt with them. He said he was busy and couldn’t talk. I pushed for an explanation, and he swore at me and hung up. In response to the owner’s comment, I’m happy to send proof of the transaction. Is there an email address I can use? Accusing me of lying says a lot about how you treat customers. I called at 10:52 am today, and you hung up at 10:54, in case you don’t remember.

A nice surprise in this small town: the Indian food is a hidden gem, and the menu is great value, with nothing over $12. The soups are made from scratch, and the pasta dishes are good too. There are daily specials, plus a chicken burger and fries for $5.99. Mondays have half-price wings, and on Thursdays pool and karaoke are free. Fridays bring an all-requests DJ, while Sundays have $4.99 ceasers. There’s also a giant projection screen and flat-screen TVs for watching your favorite sports.

I’d travel farther rather than stay here. My stay was awful, and I didn’t feel safe. The bar was closed, but people were coming out of it clearly high. They seemed close with the hotel manager, if that’s what you can call him. The hotel owner also owns a convenience store downtown. This place was a complete dump, and I’d stay away.

The beds were clean and comfy, and the fridge worked great. That’s about where the good points end. There was no TV, and the leaking toilet had its water turned off, so I had to switch the water on and off myself. There wasn’t any toilet paper either, so I went down to the bar to ask for some. The balcony had garbage and broken furniture all over it. The garbage bag tied to the entertainment unit still had someone else’s trash in it, and the floor was filthy. The doors and walls had patches where people had knocked holes in them. It’s one step above sleeping in your car, only because there’s a toilet.
