Quality Inn & Suites

Everything we needed was right in the plaza beside the hotel, and the location was great. Our room was huge, the bed was very comfortable, and it was right across from the pool and exercise room. The pool had a range of depths, from very shallow to quite deep. I also loved the deep hot tub and the lights that came on at night. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was nice with the news and weather on TV. We stayed two nights ago and had a really nice time. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, pleasant place, and I'll definitely be back soon.

About 15 rooms used by our group had very similar cleanliness problems, so this wasn't just an issue with my room. There was black mold coming through the bathroom wallpaper, a dirty toilet and toilet-paper holder, a grimy nightstand, handprints on the walls and windows, and a broken-off door bolt. We also saw staff walking the halls with what looked like a fumigation gun, supposedly to deal with bugs. The hotel said it was an “air freshener,” which says a lot about how bad the smell must be. The hotel replied that I should have told the front desk, but I did. I gave them the description of the tall guy with fluffy hair. Several families tried calling too, often without an answer. I called eight times on Saturday morning before anyone picked up, and I also sent a formal complaint by email. Blaming guests instead of taking responsibility seems entirely on brand for this place.

By 6 AM we had packed up and left after finding two cockroaches running across the bed. When we told the front desk, they just waved us away. I later called the manager and got an even more condescending response. The night before, our keycard wouldn't let us into the room because it wasn't activated. We went back to the lobby and waited alone for 30 minutes, past midnight and already exhausted, with nobody there to help. When the staff member finally came back, he apologized and said he'd been in the washroom. He eventually activated the card, but between the staff response and the poor maintenance, I wouldn't recommend this place.

The location right off the 410 and Queen was ideal, and the price was market value for what I needed. We could park our cargo trailer while unhooking the pickup to run errands and see the area. The pool and hot tub were useful, and we found the place clean and nice overall. Breakfast was a small, fixed self-serve setup, nothing fancy, but handy for an early start. The tub's rubber caulking was black and moldy, which made soaking unpleasant, especially when it was right at eye level. I scrubbed the tub and tiles myself, but the black growth was in the caulking. On the plus side, the toilet seat was sturdy and didn't shift when used. One elevator had no working lights, which made for a scary little ride.
