The owner was lovely and told us lots about the house and the area. It's an old place, from 1912 if I remember correctly, but it's in good shape. Our Holland room was clean and pleasant, with a bit of a grandma's house feel. Breakfast included eggs made to order, plus cereal and some yoghurts. You can also sit outside and enjoy the sun and surroundings. We stayed because we couldn't find another option, and the National Park was just ten minutes away for our visit the next morning. There isn't much nearby, so eat before you arrive or bring food. We'd definitely come back if we're in the area.

Mark was a fantastic host, really friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful and very close to Kejimkujik, and staying here turned out to be a great choice. We used the romance, pharaoh, and grey wolf rooms. They were all nicely decorated, with comfortable beds, and the jacuzzi tubs were a lovely extra. The puppy and goats were adorable, and we enjoyed meeting and petting them. Breakfast was very nice too. Highly recommend it!

The location near Keji park is great, and the service was okay, no complaints there. But my fiancé and I stayed for a weekend and honestly regretted it. The room didn't seem clean, and there was a dish left in the sink. There were stains on the carpets, walls, pillows, and elsewhere. The shower was gross, its curtains yellow and moldy, and the water smelled like metal or rust. We chose the Inn so my fiancé could rest before running the backyard ultra instead of camping. O’tentik would have been cleaner.

Food options around here are very limited. You can eat at the park cafe or at the Hollow Log in Caledonia, just down the highway, but its kitchen closes at 6:45 pm. For more than a short stay, plan on driving 45 minutes to an hour each way for dinner, or bring picnic supplies as we did. The liquor store in Caledonia stays open later than the only restaurant. The inn is five minutes from the Kejimkujik National park entrance, and only camping in the park gets you closer. Other places to stay are 45 minutes to an hour away. It's under new management after being closed for a while, so expectations should be adjusted while they get things up to speed. Breakfast is simple but good, with eggs, bacon or sausage, plenty of cereals, and yogurt. The coffee is good too.

We stayed in the housekeeping apartment as a family of four, with kids aged 12 and 14. It had a relaxed country feel and plenty of room to spread out. A bit rustic, but it had what we needed. There's no A/C, though fans in every room kept us comfortable, and the host made us feel at home. The pool and game room still need some work, but they were good enough for the kids to have fun. The setting is lovely and laid back for a family, right beside the National Park. With new owners working hard to fix the place up, it should keep getting better.
