Vista del Mar Motel

We had a beautiful ocean view, and there’s a great coffee bar across the street. The rates were very reasonable. It’s an older motel, but it’s well kept, and our room was spotless with comfortable beds. We stayed three nights; the maids were attentive without ever getting in our way. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed there a year ago and couldn’t sleep because of the noise next door. Those guests smoked pot all night, even though the rooms were supposed to be smoke-free, and our room smelled bad. The place also felt outdated and unclean, with a big stain on the carpet.

You can’t beat the view or the location, and the rooms are nice. The owner, manager, or landlord is fantastic, and there are some nice people around. The restaurant next door has decent food too, so it’s worth checking out.

The Vista del Mar Motel offers nightly stays as well as long-term rooms. It’s close to the water and cheaper than some other options, with a decent Asian restaurant next door. The room was an okay size and had a coffee maker, sink, fridge, microwave, and fairly large flat-screen TV. We checked for bed bugs when we arrived because of earlier reviews, and didn’t find any in the rooms our group was using. The soundproofing is almost nonexistent. If you’re on the ground floor, you can clearly hear the person upstairs using the toilet. Rooms were very cold at first, then too warm once we turned on the heat. It’s loud, the area has sketchy vibes, temperature control is poor, and it’s far from the town centre. I’d only stay here if you can sleep through all kinds of noise and don’t mind the feel of the area.
