Auberg'Inn - Aux 4 Vents

The view from the yurt was lovely, but it wasn't enough to persuade us to sleep there. Once we started reading the reviews, the thought of being swarmed by mosquitoes overnight didn't sound appealing either. Floating yurts are an interesting idea, but the place seemed completely neglected, and the price didn't make sense for what we got. We'd booked a night in a yurt as the final stop on our Gaspésie road trip, hoping it would be a highlight. At 200 CAD a night, we assumed it couldn't be that bad. That was a mistake, as was not reading comments first. Spiders were everywhere, from the shed with the safety jackets and paddles to the canoes and especially the yurt. They hung from the ceiling, sat on the outdoor chairs, and waited above the door for people to pass. The website says sheets aren't included, but that you can pay 20 CAD for them. We did. They gave us a bin of bedding and told us to return the bin afterward. After encountering all the spiders, we noticed many of the items were stained, and we had no idea what their history was.

For that price, this was ridiculous. The yurt was badly maintained and overrun with spiders inside and out, so we left in the middle of the night and slept at a motel. When we tried to contact staff for advice or help, nobody supported us. Avoid it.

We only ate at the restaurant and didn't stay overnight. The food was great and the service friendly, though they may have been a little short-staffed. I'd happily come back.

The dorms were spotless, and staff were always around if needed. Really nice place, I'd stay again.
