Andy was the best part of our stay at Windmill Walk. He was kind and helpful, carried my luggage up the high steps, was easy to reach in an emergency, and goes the extra mile for guests. I’m already planning new reservations there for 2025 and look forward to future stays at Andy’s VRBO. The place was immaculate, spacious, and felt like the best of a home away from home. There’s a roomy desk for laptops and multi-plugs, a full-size, fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious dining area. I appreciated having a proper hot kettle for late-night tea while finishing deadlines, without Keurig plastic waste. The fluffy, warm bed covers were welcome during late fall and winter travel. The location is convenient to the turnpike, whether you’re headed to an arena for an assignment or visiting scenic spots like Peggy’s Cove.

It was a nice change from a typical hotel. The fully equipped rooms were lovely, parking was included, and the helpful “staff” were available by calling on arrival. It’s in a pleasant residential area close to stores and parks, and a short drive from downtown Halifax and Dartmouth.

Communication with the owner was open, and the location was convenient, but there were some serious problems with our stay at Windmill Walk in Dartmouth. During a heat wave, the room had no central air, only a loud, musty window-mounted portable unit that struggled to cool it. It was 28.5 degrees Celsius when we arrived and still 27 degrees six hours later. The listing didn’t mention air conditioning, a crucial detail I missed. I appreciate that there was at least an air conditioner, but in my opinion it’s immoral to charge people to rent a heated oven. I barely slept either night. We booked four days but left after two and were penalized the cost of one full night. The online photos made the unit look rich and cozy. In person, it felt like an airBandB frat house that needed a deep clean and updates. I paid $213 per night with tax for unit 102. The hotel has some positives, but addressing these issues would greatly improve the experience.

The place was very clean and fully equipped, and the location was perfect, close to the bridge to Halifax. We enjoyed our stay a lot. Highly recommended, and thanks!
