The evening fires were lovely and relaxing, and we enjoyed chatting with other guests when anyone else was staying. The ATV ride was fun, and the setting is beautiful and peaceful. The hosts were kind, though they seemed overworked and a bit disorganized or aloof. We booked the all-inclusive package hoping for a horse-ranch experience. The four horses were lovely and well cared for, and we learned about their care as well as riding. But during our August 2025 stay, outside guests could book rides, and those bookings took priority. The horses went out to pasture for four hours each afternoon, so our riding time was limited to some evenings. We expected better access as all-inclusive guests and felt we should have had the chance to ride before the horses were booked by others. We also tried mountain biking, but there wasn't a bike that fit my 10-year-old son. We were told they don't get many children, so they don't really keep kids' bikes. The brakes on my adult bike weren't working well. The canoe life jackets were extremely dated and didn't fit properly. The home-cooked meals were okay, though one of us found a bug in our food one day. The owners offered wine with dinner, then charged us extra for it at checkout despite our package being all-inclusive. Use of the washer and dryer in the shared kitchen and laundry area also cost extra. The lodge interior felt dated and needed a deep clean and renovation. We ended up using hand soap to shower, and spiders in the bathrooms and on towels made things feel very rustic. Deka Lake is close by, but there isn't a public lakefront. It's a nice place with a lot of potential, but our experience felt very overpriced.

We had a great time here, with tasty food and fun things to do. The family who owns Beaver Guest Ranch made us feel welcome and looked after. The horses were healthy and well trained, so even beginners could feel safe riding. Special thanks to Rene for keeping the fire going. Such a lovely spot for a cozy getaway, highly recommend it.

The kids loved riding and running around in the garden, and Nicola was flexible about dietary restrictions. We had a wonderful three-day stay at Beaver Guest Ranch. Nicola and Rene were welcoming, patient with the children, and great hosts. It was an easy place to unwind in beautiful surroundings. The best evening was the BBQ, then s’mores by the campfire.

We weren't staying at the ranch, so I can't say anything about the rooms, but the ranch itself was beautiful. We went out on a trail ride with Nicola on a gorgeous day. The horses were sociable and very well trained. I'd definitely recommend Beaver Guest Ranch for booking a horseback ride.

The rooms had been newly decorated and were really comfortable. We felt at home with the family, sharing meals every evening and chatting for hours. They were patient on the trail ride with the beginner in our group, checking often that we were okay, and we had access to whatever we wanted or needed. We were hoping to avoid a commercial ranch and experience ordinary ranch life, and this felt authentic, from being greeted by the 5 bernaise mountain dog puppies to eating with the hosts. Beaver Guest Ranch is in a tranquil, beautiful part of the world, and the people are genuinely lovely. We'd recommend staying here. Thank you!
